After the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers in New York and the Pentagon in Washington D.C., traveling has been changed and not just for flyers. All travelers now must take into consideration identity checks, as well as body, baggage, carry-on searches, screening, and at many checkpoints. All this takes time that may cause delays.
To avoid spending more time in airports than in the air, it is suggested, if possible, that if the flying time is less than 2 hours - to consider traveling by ground transpiration.
All travelers should allow more time before flying, embarking on a cruise or entering a train. You should be ready for inspections at museums and parks.
Expect long lines while crossing borders, and always carry a driver's license, a passport or a birth naturalization certificate.
Travelers can also take some steps to avoid these delays. They should not wear items that may set of alarm detectors, such as belts and shoes with metal buckles. They should not pack in a carry on: knifes, scissors, tear gas sprays, electrical shockers, screwdrivers - or anything else that may be used as a weapon or look like one.
