KLARA CHAJA GIERSH

Klara Chaja was born in on Monday, 4 Av 5654, in Dobromil (or Rezezow), Poland. She was the daughter of Ernestine Esther (Goldhammer) and Mr. Friedes.
After her mother Ernestine
married her second husband Siegmund, Sinai, Simon Schmidt, she moved to
Berlin. Klara Chaja had a sister Netti and a brother Max, both born to
her mother and Siegmund Schmidt.
Klara married Mr. Giersh
from whom she later divorced.
When the Nazis came
to power in Germany, Klara was offered by her brother Max to move to Palestine,
but she preferred the USA, South Africa or Australia. None of these countries
would let her in.
On February 19, 1943, Gestapo Berlin took her from her house on Nassauischestr. 61, Ptr. B, b. Meersohn, in Wilmersdorf Berlin, and deported her to Auschwitz, where she was at an unknown date murdered by the Nazis.
Klara Chaja did not
remarry and had no family.
